WIMBLEDON: Oh, Ana.

If there is anyone listening up there, dude, it's time to give this kid a break.

WTA's sweetest player was only on court for 53 minutes, and most of it she spent getting trashed by Venus in the first set, 6-1. Ana won the first game in the second but injured herself in the process.
“Just when I was serving 30‑40 down in that first game, and after my first serve when I landed I just felt a sharp pain on my inner thigh and I couldn't step on my leg ever since.”

She tried to play on but it was accompanied by much sobbing on court, after play and in the press conference.

If you have been a reader here for a while you probably know that I'm not a fan of Ana. But when you see a player falling apart on court like that, even *I* feel something. I really don't know what is wrong with this girl. I watched her 2008 RG win against Dinara Safina and she looked capable of so many things. And then she crashed out of Wimbledon last year on round 3. Apparently then, it was the thumb. Then she switched coaches. And again. And now when she's not playing badly (compared to how she's been playing for the last year) she got another stroke of bad luck.

I may not be a fan of some players, but I'm not one to kick someone when they're down. Besides, all this drama is depressing and it's making me frown and because of that I want her to get well soon and kick ass when she comes back so I can make fun of her holier-than-thou image again.

On the other hand, the goddess Venus Williams strolled to the quarters.

Miami: Sony Ericsson Opening Party (UPDATED)

What does it say about me that I think it's adorable how he hasn't actually figured out this dressing up stuff?

Says I am GONE.

Love the shoes though. Or have I been hanging out too much with my best gay?

Yes, the hair is a bit rough, but we all know he doesn't give a fig.

Benito probably threatened to take away his cookies to make him attend this party.

UPDATE: found more pics!

Ah, Maria Sharapova and her fashion sense.

Don't like her, don't like what she's wearing, but damn she looks good.

Looks REALLY good. Almost can't believe it's her. Are we sure that's her eyes, her jawlines? But those are deffinitely her shoulders.

I like the curls James, why did you shave it off? A little overdressed, but I'll take him.

Serena Williams and her confidence! I'd kill for a sliver of that.

Truth? I think the dress is awesome on her. Suits her to a T.

"Yeah you know I put the D in D-I-V-A."

Venus is the coolest girl on the block!

I don't like the dress, but the hair makes me forgive everything. Doesn't she look fab with that pixie cut? I totally approve.

But is that all? Where's JJ? Ana? Ginge??

Found more pictures at Great Tennis Photos!

JJ's makeup/hair color is verra verra nice. "Opens" her eyes. Approval stamp.

She looks really good with a simple LBD donchathink? I'd burn the shoes though.

Dasco is.. agh. I can't believe I ever made a post of Nando vs Rafa. He's such a skanky manho.

The jeans. The perfectly calculated opening of the shirt. The tucked in shirt. THE SHIRT. The belt. The hair. The shoes.

AGH AGH AGH.

Moving on.

Dress is fine. Agi has a gorgeous bod. The shoes - burn baby burn.

May I ask, what is the point of kitten heels? I never did get it.

Nole's such a goof. The smile erases all his mistakes here, such as the black jacket with the black sneakers, the pants that are too long...

You know what? The smile doesn't erase. Fail.

And I'd actually wear this combination - with different hair and with my complexion, I'd look gorrrrrrge.

I know, I'm so humble. Or delusional. You must get used to it.

What is going on HERE?? Is Coyote Ugly making a sequel?? What's with the random LV bag? Combined with snake pants?? Is this some kinda twist of Cavalli??

I don't even know what's happening with the rest. It's too much for my sensibilities to handle so I'll let you judge for yourselves.

Fed & Williamses Not Joining The Fight Against Naggy Girlfriend (WADA)

From ESPN.com:
Depending on which tennis player you ask, the new drug-testing regime for top international athletes is either too intrusive or a necessary evil.

The main issue of the system, which became effective in tennis on Jan. 1 after being adopted by the International Tennis Federation at the Beijing Olympics, is a provision requiring players to say where they are going to be for an hour each day, every day.

<snip>

A number of cyclists, soccer players and volleyballers are pursuing legal action in Belgium, calling the code an invasion of their privacy. Top-ranked tennis player Rafael Nadal has said he plans to join in. Spanish journalists quoted him as calling the system a "disgrace" and "intolerable," saying many players believe they are being treated like criminals.

But second-ranked Roger Federer and Serena and Venus Williams say that while they may not like it, it's critical to tennis' integrity to prove that its athletes are clean.

"It's a tough system, no doubt," Federer said Saturday, a day before he will play Nadal in the Australian Open final. A win would pull him even with Pete Sampras' record of 14 Grand Slam titles. "It's a significant change to what we were used to before, so I think it takes some getting used to it."

<snip>

He said doping seemed to have become so sophisticated that anything less stringent would leave cracks for offenders to slip through.

"I feel like this is how you're going to catch them, right?" Federer said. "You're not going to catch them ringing them up and saying, 'Look, I would like to test you maybe in two days.' The guy's cheating and they're smart, right?

"It's an hour a day. I know it's a pain, but I would like it to be a clean sport, and that's why I'm OK with it."

I cannot believe anyone will agree to such an invasion of privacy.
