One Pose, Different Men.

Doesn't quite affect you the same way does it.

I don't think so.

WIMBLEDON: Oh, Sod.

Apparently, it is possible to beat someone 11 times (ELEVEN) times in a row.

Roger and his gold duffel proved that today and strolled quite pleasantly onto the quarters, beating Sod 64, 76, 76. Even though there were two tiebreaks it wasn't that close. Yeah, as if Sod had a chance. Sheesh. I make powerful hexes, okay.

WIMBLEDON: So Much Pretty On The Men's Side

Maybe I'm deflecting what with Rafa out of commission and all, but hot damn, when did these guys get so darned sexy?

Nole rocks a haircut and red accents by Adidas. He is through to the second round in 4 sets against Julien Beneteau, 6-7(8) 7-6(1) 6-2 6-4. He did, however, slid around on the grass more than he probably meant to. I heard more than one players were doing that on center court, so maybe (just maybe) it's not Adidas' fault after all. I suppose we'll see by Wednesday. But in the meantime, let's gaze upon the hotness that is Nole.

Nom.

You know who else is nom today? You'd never have expected this coming from me, but... Nando was looking very, very "touchable" today.

You guessed it - no more excessive hair gel! OMG ALERT VIDAL SASSOON. I want to run through my fingers in his lovely locks... and pretend it's Rafa's. Never say I'm not a loyal fan. Nando won his match against James Ward in convincing straight sets, 6-1 6-3 6-4.

And maybe James would not exactly be called pretty by us experts here in Tennis Lust, but look at those eyes and try to tell me it's not envy-inducing.

Tommy Robredo caused us a bit of a heart palpitations session by winning very tightly over Luka Gregorc 7-6(4) 6-4 5-7 7-6(3), but he wants to smooch us and we want to smooch him back, so we forgive him. Such generous creatures we are.

Sadly, the one arguably prettiest amongst the pretty lost today to Karol Beck in 5 sets, 1-6 7-5 6-3 4-6 10-8. Feli, how you disappoint us. And it's so annoying how you could be so pretty yet good pictures of you is very hard to find. Alas, we have to settle with this one.

The not so pretty one? Soderling also racked a win today.

Prettiest picture I could find of him.

So He Lost?

Yeah, that's pretty much the expression on my face when I found out. From the news!

Mom: "Your Rafa lost."
Me: "Heh? Impossible."
Mom: "It's on the news, see for yourself."
Me: (*&^%$%^&*()!!!!!!!!! HE DID! OMGWTFBBQ"

I really don't know how I feel about the loss, as I did not watch it and I have no idea how well the Sod plays. But he did get baguetted and bageled by Rafa as recent as Rome, so to call this mindboggling is a bit of an understatement. As now we know that Rafa was wobbling on wonky knees for God knows how long until it got this bad, although how bad it is we have no idea yet. I'm quite resigned. I feel like this is a long time in coming, we all know how he burns his candle at both ends, and the middle too.

What I try to remind myself is how much of a fighter Rafa is. In fact, he's nothing if not that. I really don't care how many tournaments he has to miss as long as when he comes back, he comes back hale, hearty, and firing with both guns along with some mini bazookas.

Then again, maybe he lost 'cos I wasn't around, twirling my panties and all. Hey, he lost the TWO clay tourneys that *I* did not watch. Coincidence? I'll let you decide ;)

ROME: Rafa Proves That His Is Bigger Than The Sod's

Rafa won (duh) against Dear Sod, 61 60. Wha..? His name is not the Sod? Well, this is a Rafa Nadal blog, so too bad so sad, pass the gravy.

And just to satisfy the drama queen in all of us, Rob had a little exchange with the umpire about a linecall. The match was quite satisfying because, well... Rafa did squash him like a bug. Wha..? What do you mean I'm laughing my arse off? I feel bad for him, really I do. *snicker*

I really like this picture because it looks like he is about to bitchslap someone. No, I don't know who.

Okay, can you totally tell I LOVED the match? It was fantastic. Rafa's got his game face on from the second he stepped on court, and Dear Sod justified my dislike for him by giving Rafa a really nasty handshake - Rafa had to lean quite far into the other side of the net. Yes, what a gentleman. I can't find a really unflattering picture of him, so I won't post a pic of Dear Sod. Yes, I know,we're so missing some things in life by not looking at his face anymore than we have to. Sucks, eh?

Tomorrow Rafa is going against Nando. Juan Monaco going against Gonzo, Potro against the King of Smurfs, and Roger vs Mischa Zverev, who dispatched Gilles Simon in straight sets. I may have jinxed Gilly in my earlier post. Sorry, babe. Rafa vs Nando has its potential.. if it's on the hardcourts. Alas, this is clay, yes? I can't stop saying that.

For those of you who has no clue of the reason of this hoo haa against Dear Sod, here's a little video to remind/inform you. Thanks Diane for the link.

And an article that called everything pretty much fairly:

Nadal, Soderling get under each other's skin.

Don't say I don't deliver.
