From Rafa's half:
Good news: Rafa's first match might be against Samurai Querrey.
Bad news: Then I remembered he's American and this is clay.
Bad news: Ginge is in the same half, again. Of course he is, but I was kinda hoping he's across the draw, so to speak.
Good news/bad news: Rafa second match might be Robin Soderling. Bad because I might have to see Rob's face after all, but good because Rafa will trash him.
From the other half:
Good news: Hottie Safin is in the tourney. That's always a bonus.
Bad news: I might stumble across Radek's pictures again while searching for Rafa's pictures.
Bad news: I'm not seeing anyone that might be a problem or a challenge to Rafa.
Good news: He's probably gonna win this one too unless some blisters magically reappear. Just sayin'.
"good because Rafa will trash him"
ReplyDeleteYes, please! that's always a big incentive.
Querrey actually pushed Rafa for a bit on clay once - Davis Cup Semis last year. He took a set off Rafa thanks to a tie break. Yes, Rafa won the match in 4 sets, but Querrey gave him much more of a headache than Roddick did.
ReplyDeleteTrue. Samurai played the match of his life that day. Talk about a crappy first Davis cup tie for the poor boy: Spain in Spain on clay, Rubber 1 against Rafa. Nice.
ReplyDeleteI felt so bad for Sam, that day. Talk about getting the crappy draw. Of course, Andy didn't fare any better. I think I enjoyed Andy's thrashing more, though. I like Andy, don't get me wrong. I like a lot of the guys, right up to the point they step on court against Rafa. Then they're dead to me. ;) But seriously, Sam did better than anyone had really hoped, but the result was the same.
ReplyDeleteAnd do not mention the blisters. We don't want to tempt fate, do we?
