Nadal admitted he had struggled with the pace of Bolelli's shots, saying: "In tennis, every match is very tough and I'm very happy to win the first match. He's a very good player, he played big shots from the baseline. He improves every year, I want to congratulate him."

I always thought he was a slow starter, but apparently he did play badly last night. He sounded defensive about this win though I have no idea why.
"I deserved this win", said Nadal. "I had all of the chances and he didn't, I also had two match points. I picked up my game in the third set and started serving better". "I found my rhythm, but I had a bad game in the first set before I started playing better. I'm in the second round and I expect a better result. I'm hoping to play better". "I'm very happy to win this match. I'll have to try hard in the next one", said the 10-1 player this season.

You won. Full stop. We don't care how you did it, we don't care if you made someone cry in the end, we only care that you win. But seriously guys. To sit front row in this match? I'd need about a gallon of water just to go through the 1st set. The beauty on court must've been quite overwhelming.
Yesterday's results:

I'm kinda bummed Jesse Huta Galung fell to The Hulk. I know nothing about him but he's got a last name that comes from my country which means somewhere in his family tree a woman did something naughty to a fellow countryman of mine, and produced this pretty, pretty boy. No one can accuse me of not being patriotic.
I mean check out those legs. Where's Natch? Girl, we need to discuss his legs in details.
He's seriously hawt! A little Clark Kent-ish methinks. Come on, who amongst us never had a twinkle for Superman? Okay, a fierce Superman, but still hawt! No?
Today's match:

"We don’t care how you did it, we don’t care if you made someone cry in the end,..."
ReplyDeleteBWHA! Niiiice one. :P
Sonja - LOL! It's not a poke at Roger btw, just a fact. In the end, we do want rafa to win. ;)
ReplyDeleteOMG you guys, he played pretty crappy yesterday. The first set was kind of a disaster; he looked more like busines-as-usual-Rafa in the 2nd set for sure; the third set was more like the 1st set. Except when he didn't break after like 1000 chances in an early game, he didn't then go and get broken himself the very next game (which is what happened in the first. Ugh.) He pulled out the win though, I just wish he would have pulled off his pants too. I mean, we deserved it, right?! After being so scared he was gonna get bounced in the 1st round. Throw us a bon(er) Rafa! ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL, I was trying to be cute and now I think it just doesn't make sense. I meant bone(r). HA HA. I'm hilarious, jk ;)
ReplyDeleteGAH! That outfit.
ReplyDeleteGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
Now I have a Rafarection.
*checks spelling*
*beams*
LOOOOOOL natch you're a gem. Always good for a laugh.
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting for sonja Nadal to pat me on my back. That was some serious effort on my part.
ReplyDelete*taps foot*
I think SoNa is sleeping right now. ;)
ReplyDeleteJohanne - I sorta got it on your first try, don't you worry, we're all like-minded people here...
Yes, Jo, I read it like that the first time.
ReplyDeleteSoNa is probably dreaming of Rafa right now. I'm jealous. Maybe if I hit myself on the head hard enough, I can join her...
No don't! If you do, I cannot tell you about rafa's match! lol
ReplyDeleteBONK!
ReplyDeleteOwwwwwwwwwww...too late. Plus, it didn't work.
Alright. I will await your announcement (AND photos, please) of his next match.
*SoNa wakes up after a night full of Rafarotic dreams*
ReplyDelete*has the sudden urge to pat natch's back*
*pats*
Huh??
*beams again*
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I get it.
ReplyDeleteI finally yahoo-ed him, then went to his website to get a gander. He's a future Tommy Haas! natch likey verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry much. I'm just gonna call him Gulag, though. I'd kinda like to do some hard time with him.
*whispers* ...then start stalking him...
Seeeee?? I knew you'd agree. ;)
ReplyDeleteActually his last name is supposed to be read as one name, like HUTAGALUNG but I know I'm picking. I'll call him Kent after Clark Kent.
He's the same age as me so no, not too young LOL. Too bad he sucks :(
Depends on what he sucks...;)
ReplyDeleteHutu-Gulag? Sounds like a horrible African prison.
Sorry, but your age is too damn young.
*sighs*
*writes letter to Tennis Channel advocating televising more Seniors tour*
Whaaa? I'm 24!!! NOT too young. Rafa would say so :D
ReplyDeleteOh lord do not start.. I'm pms-ing. Baaaad time of the month to think salacious thoughts.
Why the Gulag boy have shiny pins? Is he part of the CR7 bunch?
ReplyDeleteDianne - oh boy. I didn't notice the shinyness. Uuuuggghhhh C-ron is sooo disgusting.
