Oh, and they are totally lying - Fed said he'd like to play Nando.
Q. Rafa is the best player in the world at the moment. It's fair to say you'd pretty much rather play him in the final?
ROGER FEDERER: Depending what you look for. I'd like to play Fernando because he's never played a Grand Slam final before. I have an edge there. Playing Rafa is obviously, you know, more exciting because of the history we have playing in so many Grand Slam finals.
Him being the best player in the world at the moment, it would make it a very intriguing match.
I know. They twist things to suit themselves, oh well. It's all about ratings nowadays. I just think they could actually say the truth and make it interesting - more, even.
Btw, I think during the USO I was watching the US ESPN broadcast, and there was one commentator that was sooo annoying. He kept saying "dude". It was like listening to a frat boy who couldn't care less. Does anyone know who that is?
Beth: I was thinking the same thing. My impression was he wanted to play Fern, but then commented about what it's like playing Rafa. Whatever!
Babz: LOL at the commentator story. I usually try to tune them out because they are in general, SUPER annoying. They're too chatty. And what kills me is when they're talking about some random topic, nothing to do with whatever match is on, or whoever is out there playing. I swear sometimes I think I'd be a better commentator and I have absolutely NO training in broadcasting. But apparently it's not so much a requirement ;)
"Ruffeyal Nadal". HAHAHA that first commentator cracked me up so much.
Johanne: Is JUST the same with the commentators on German Eurosport. I HATE THEM. There's no ex-player co-commentator, just that chatty annoying guy going on about whatever stuff, but not the actual match, let alone technical details.
I also have British Eurosport though, which ROCKS. There's always an ex-player joining the commentator, and they don't go rambling throughout the whole match. It's really professional and entertaining.
Sonja: I've heard some British commentary before, and I agree, it's much more professional and entertaining - they know when to talk and they know when to shut the hell up!!
Us Rafanatics would be so good at covering his matches!! Although there would probably need to be like 10 of us rotating on and off the mics, as frequent fainting, sweating and panting could become an issue. Put it this way - we'd all probably need a lot of breaks. And I'm sure there would need to be a lot of censors on hand (well depending on which country we'd be broadcasting for at the time) in order to bleep out all the swearing and dirty comments. HAHAHHAHA I'm cracking myself up over here.
