They Have A RAFA Song?

Video of DC tie after match celebration:

Apparently, the Spanish team were singing a Rafa song while they were jumping.

Lyrics by Merikob on Youtube:
Por eso yo, te quiero dar
Rafa, mi corazon
Yo te sigo en todas las partes
Gracias por ser espaƱol

English:

That is why, I want to give you
Rafa, my heart
I follow you everywhere
Thank you for being Spanish

Hysterical! I wonder who came up with the lyrics. One of the players?

  1. I read somewhere (sorry my old brain can't recall) that Feli and Ferru collaborated and wrote the song.

  2. That figures. The song has no panache.

But I do likey Rafa wrapped in the Spanish flag. Is it too late to write Santa?

  3. This song is usually sang during football matches in Argentina, obviously with different lyrics. Lyrics are probably Feli's work since i remember when they won the DC last year in one of the interviews he sang a song is sang ( Argentinian chant)but had changes the lyrics :-D

  5. I'm not surprised then, song sounds like something they made up for a joke, but still funny to hear the players saying "Rafa mi corazon".

  7. It doesn't even have a tune, basically just a chant they made up. Oh, the Spanish team is so cute.

  8. Hi Meru - you are right - this is an Argentinian song from a group called "La Mosca Tse Tse", that Feli Lopez adapted.

The translation above actually comes from my youtube posting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-IKejj788M

Full post also at my website (shameless self-promotion, but I think quite relevant!)

The post on my website includes a link to the original La Mosca track.
